So far, it has worked very well. The portions are very precise, I haven’t had any issues with the connectivity/app, although it would be excellent to have integration with virtual assistants. It tends to scare my dog with the noise of the electric motor running, but once it finishes serving the portion, he approaches to eat without any issues.

The product works very well and can be set up through an app. It notifies you when it has been fed and you can also manually feed it through the app’s feeding button. The only issue is that when it disconnects from the network, there is no way to know if it has been fed or not.

I have been using this product for about 2 months and it has worked great with my cats’ dental formula kibbles. One thing I really like about it is that it never jams. The portions that it dispenses are consistently the same, which is a bonus. The container is also large enough to hold and dispense enough food to feed both of my cats for about 2 weeks.
The only downside I have noticed is that the feeder can be quite noisy when it distributes the food. However, I have found a solution by programming it to only dispense food during the day, from 7am to 10pm, so it doesn’t disturb my sleep, even though the feeder is placed on the floor in my room.
In terms of price, it is a bit expensive, but it has been working well and meeting my expectations. I just hope it will continue to function properly in the long run.

We purchased this feeder around a year ago (now known as the “original” model) and it has proven to be a fantastic purchase. When I was searching for feeders, there were numerous options available and I was unsure of which one to choose and what features were necessary. I ultimately decided on this feeder because it was from a US-based company, and I believed that we would receive better support in case of any issues compared to the various Chinese models.
The accompanying app for this feeder is well-designed. I can effortlessly control the feeder using my iPhone, and my boyfriend can do the same with his Android device. While we do not use the app regularly, as we have programmed a fixed feeding schedule for our cats (which allows us to finally sleep in on the weekends without being pestered for food at 6am!), there are occasions when we use it to dispense a small amount to encourage the cats to come to the kitchen. They can hear the sound from anywhere in the house and come running! If there is ever a situation where we panic because we can’t locate one of our cats and suspect they may have slipped outside, we simply dispense some kibble and watch them appear out of nowhere.
This feeder may not have additional features like recordable messages or video cameras, but I believe it is more crucial to have a feeder that consistently fulfills its primary function of feeding. It has never become clogged or broken, and we have never had to reset it. Even if there is a disruption in our home’s WiFi, it continues to dispense meals based on the last programmed schedule. Our cats have never missed a meal. Additionally, you can even insert batteries in case of a power outage.
The reason I am writing this review is because yesterday, for the first time, the indicator light on the feeder started blinking to indicate a problem. Although the WiFi was functioning properly in our home, the feeder was unable to connect to it. Feeling a bit frustrated, I turned to my computer to search for troubleshooting solutions, but then noticed that the company had sent me an email. They informed me that their connectivity service was experiencing issues, which explained the blinking light. They assured me that the connection would be restored soon and in the meantime, the feeder would continue dispensing meals as scheduled.
I genuinely appreciate their proactive approach in notifying their customers about the problem. This level of support is exactly what I had anticipated when I selected this company.

I want to emphasize that the double-chute splitter attachment shown in my pictures is not included with the PetSafe Wi-Fi feeder. It is actually a third-party accessory, which I will discuss further down in my review.
Now, let me share my thoughts on the PetSafe Wi-Fi feeder itself (model number PFD00-15788). I have been very impressed with it so far, despite its higher price tag. The convenience and peace of mind provided by the Wi-Fi connectivity make it worth every penny for me. One of my biggest concerns with automatic feeders is the possibility of malfunctions or failures, leaving my pets unfed without my knowledge. Even though I have someone checking on my pets daily during a long absence, being able to confirm that they are being fed and that the feeder is working properly is a huge relief. Additionally, the battery backup (requires 4 D batteries, not included) ensures that feeding can still happen even if there is a power outage. The ability to remotely feed my pets on their regular schedule through the mobile app is also wonderful. If I am stuck at work or want to extend a dinner party, I can simply use the app to ensure my pets are fed without any guilt of making them wait longer.
Setting up the feeder is incredibly easy. All you need to do is unbox it, plug it in, download the mobile app, and follow the instructions. It takes a maximum of 10 minutes. Don’t forget to wash the food tub before filling it up. Setting up the feeding schedule, including the time and amount, on the mobile app is straightforward and user-friendly. The feeder itself has a sleek design and is simple to use with just a power switch at the bottom and a feed button at the top. All other functions are controlled through the app. Initially, I was worried that my cats might figure out how to push the feeder button and get extra food, but to my surprise, the app has a “Child Lock” setting that completely disables this button. However, even if you don’t disable the feeding button on the unit, the feeder has a clever feature. When the button is pressed, the app notifies you with a message saying “Your pet has been fed!” It also provides the amount of food given and the time of feeding. If your pet pushed the button accidentally, you can easily disable it via the app from anywhere and adjust the schedule accordingly. This is truly a fantastic feature, PetSafe!
I also want to mention the useful feeding history log available on the mobile app. It lists all the feedings along with the date, time, amount, and whether they were scheduled or ad-hoc (either via the button on the machine or the app).
Finally, let me briefly discuss the aftermarket 3D printed double-chute splitter I purchased from a third-party seller. It is an incredible accessory, and I am extremely satisfied with it. I find it surprising that PetSafe did not create a similar accessory themselves. The splitter fits the feeder perfectly, just like an OEM accessory, and it can be easily installed within seconds. If you have two cats, this splitter transforms the single feeder into a double feeder, eliminating the need for two separate feeders. You can simply double the feeding amount, and each bowl will receive a single portion. My main concern was that most of the food would end up in one bowl, but this splitter does a pretty decent job of evenly distributing the food between the two bowls. I want to clarify that I am a consumer and do not have any vested interest in promoting this product, but when something works so well and fits flawlessly, it should be acknowledged. What sets it apart, however, is its ability to accommodate large kibbles for my cat. In the past, my dental food would often get stuck in my previous feeder, but this one handles it with ease. The portion sizes are consistently accurate, which is a huge plus. Though it would have been nice to have a camera included at this price point, this minor drawback aside, I am completely satisfied with this feeder. The only other issue I encountered was that the included bowl created too much noise when the kibbles fell, so I ended up replacing it. Nonetheless, overall this feeder has exceeded my expectations and I highly recommend it.
