There are many other advanced alternatives available that perform much better and cost half as much. The app is outdated and difficult to use, and it did not connect properly. I had to constantly reset it. I returned the product and am currently waiting for a refund.

We purchased this affordable smart automatic feeder with a slow feed option for our 70 lb mutt who was eating too fast and making himself sick. The smart app for setting up feeding schedules is convenient and we haven’t experienced any issues with the wifi signal. The sound of the food hitting the metal bowl during the dispensing process can be loud, but we placed a pot holder under the bowl to reduce the noise. It took some time for our dog to get comfortable with the feeder due to the noise, but after 7 days of praise and patience, he now eats from it without hesitation. Although he still gets startled occasionally, he eagerly waits for mealtime. The feeder has made our lives easier as we only need to fill it once a week. Our dog has not had any problems since we started using it. We are happy with this purchase and would buy it again if needed. We also bought an additional bamboo elevated feeder to ensure our dog eats at a comfortable height. The claim of working with Alexa is underwhelming as it only allows for setting a “treat” skill and the app itself is sufficient for all the smart features. The app is user-friendly and easy to set up the feeding schedule.

I rarely give a five-star review, but I absolutely adore this feeder. We purchased it a year ago and the setup was a breeze. The accompanying app functions smoothly and we have never experienced any issues like clogging or malfunctions. My cat has a couple of minor complaints, but they don’t deter her from using it. She dislikes the loud noise when the kibble hits the dish, which seems to be a common problem (maybe using a silicone pan liner could help?). Additionally, she doesn’t like when her ears touch the feeder while eating from the back of the bowl. However, she’s resourceful and simply uses her paw to pull the food towards her. The only thing I would suggest is having a 3/8 cup option as 1/4 cup twice a day is too much food and 1/8 cup is insufficient. But, we manage by making occasional adjustments. It seems like my cat is starting to realize that pushing the button releases the food, so I might have to cover it in the future. She hasn’t quite figured it out yet, but you can see her wheels turning! This feeder is incredibly reliable. We have been away for three weeks at a time and once it’s filled, we have no worries for a long duration (although we do have a camera and someone to check on her as a backup and for emotional support). Thank you, PetSafe, for creating such an exceptional product!

After using the Wopet smart feeder, I can confidently say that this is the top-notch smart pet feeder out there. I have never encountered any connectivity issues or feeding errors. Plus, my cat is always fed at the right time, and the portion control feature surpasses that of the Wopet. The app’s feeding notifications are a great convenience, and setting up a feeding schedule is a breeze. Even though it is slightly pricier than the Wopet, the quality and reliability of this feeder are outstanding.

We have purchased four of these units, one for each of our cats. The main advantages are their convenience and reliability. We have also added backup batteries to ensure continuous operation in case of a power outage, and so far we haven’t encountered any issues. Occasionally, we have had to perform a simple reset, but it’s not a major inconvenience. However, my main complaint is that the feeders don’t all go off at the same time. There is a 1-2 minute delay between them, which causes a problem with our youngest cat. He hears the first feeder go off and rushes to eat the food that isn’t meant for him. By the time his bowl goes off, he has already started eating the other food. This makes it difficult to keep them separated until all the food is dispensed. Another issue is that the app only allows feeding in 15-minute intervals, so we can’t program the feeders to offset this problem precisely. It would be helpful if the app allowed for specific feeding times. We found a device from a third-party seller that fits perfectly on the front of the feeder, directing the food directly into the bowl. This works much better, especially for smaller pets, as it prevents the kibble from ending up everywhere. The bowl included with the feeder was too large for a cat, but with the additional attachment, it is now much more appropriate. On the positive side, we haven’t experienced any issues with our cats trying to knock over the feeders. They are quite sturdy when filled. Additionally, when we are away traveling, we use a Blink camera by Ring placed next to the bowl to double-check that the feeders have dispensed the food properly.

I have been using the feeder for a year now and my experience has been fantastic. It easily connects to WiFi and the mobile app. It notifies me when it is running low on food or about to run out. You can schedule it based on specific times and quantities, and it consistently dispenses exactly as programmed. I can travel with peace of mind knowing that my cats are getting their food. It’s a perfect 10 for me.

This product is a bit expensive, but it’s definitely worth it for us. With our two cats and two feeders, we can schedule regular feeding intervals throughout the day. The ability to adjust settings in the app is fantastic because it offers a lot of flexibility. However, one thing to note is that the feeder is quite loud. The noise of the motor and the kibbles hitting the empty stainless steel bowl startles our cats each time it operates. It can be quite noisy.
Another aspect to consider is that one of our cats is on a diet, so it would have been nice to be able to dispense smaller amounts of food. We are trying to feed smaller portions more frequently. Nonetheless, the feeder can dispense as little as ⅛ of a cup, so I may be nitpicking here.
A slight inconvenience we’ve noticed is that despite setting both feeders in the same app for the same scheduled times, they don’t go off simultaneously. There is a slight time gap between them, ranging from a few seconds to about two minutes. It would be more convenient if they operated at the same time so that the noise would happen all at once and be done with.
While this feeder does offer a lot of flexibility, it’s important to remember that it is not meant to be a solution for leaving your cat unattended for extended periods. Regular check-ins and monitoring are still necessary.
