We purchased this product approximately four months ago and initially found the price to be quite expensive, which caused some irritation. However, we were facing a unique challenge with our cats. One of them tends to graze on food throughout the day, taking small bites here and there. On the other hand, our second cat eats voraciously and rapidly finishes all the food, disregarding the grazer’s needs. This resulted in the grazer becoming too thin and the other cat becoming overweight.
Fortunately, this unit has proven to be a game-changer for us. We only bought one, specifically for the grazer. Surprisingly, he adapted to it within two days, despite not being known for his intelligence. The unit restricts access to the food, preventing the gorging cat from consuming it all. As a result, the grazer has gained weight, and the gorging cat has lost a small amount of weight. Additionally, we no longer have to worry all day about who is eating what.
Yesterday, I replaced the battery in the unit for the first time, and it made me realize what a valuable purchase it has been. I sometimes wish people would write their reviews after they’ve had the product for a while. So, I wanted to emphasize that this is indeed a good product that has held up well. The batteries last for approximately four months, even with constant use. Overall, it was a worthwhile purchase.

It ended up being a return. The machine was a bit scary, according to my cat. She absolutely refused to stick her head in, which I can understand. Plus, we couldn’t even get it to work, so all the trouble we had with feeding the cat was pointless since it didn’t even function and remained open.

At first, my cat was suspicious and didn’t understand how it worked, but after less than a week, he got used to it and everything went great. The product is sturdy and works perfectly. It closes as soon as the cat with the microchip walks away, and other pets have no way to steal the food, neither while the cat is eating nor after. If I needed it, I would definitely buy it again. Highly recommended.

We have found this product to be excellent for our mature cat who is 15 years old. It effectively prevents our 9-month-old kittens from accessing his special food. The setup process is simple and the lid operation is impressively quiet.

Initially, the feeder was effective in keeping the unwanted cat away and only allowing the intended cat to eat. I appreciate the screw slots on the base that help secure it in place, preventing my cats from knocking it over like previous feeders. However, my cats are incredibly smart and active, and they have found a way to outsmart the feeder. The second cat has learned that while the first cat is eating, it can paw out the entire bowl and slide it out while it’s open. Although I understand the need for the bowl to detach for cleaning, it becomes wobbly and unstable, making it easy for them to exploit this trick every time the other cat eats. Unfortunately, the return window has closed since it has been a month. I’m extremely frustrated and unsure how to protect my cat’s food. This purchase has been a waste of my money.
Ni pour ni contre bien au contraire –
The kitten kibbles are incredibly appetizing for adult cats, who literally inhale them just by looking at them 😉 It is the perfect feeder for a new kitten in the house who can’t protect its food and needs to have access to it at all times. The device works great with the microchip implanted by the vet, so there’s no need to use the included microchip. As for training, it was almost non-existent (this kitten seems to have been delivered with a brain or maybe its belly did all the thinking). We set the product to “open” mode and kept the kitten locked in the room with the device for a while. Then, when we switched to the mode where the lid only opens if the kitten is present, it quickly learned that’s where the food is, and it waits for it to become accessible (which happens quickly). As for the big cat who enjoys the kitten kibbles, after a few unsuccessful attempts and some swipes at the device with its big paws, it gave up. Since the device requires the consumer to have a good portion of their body engaged with the bowl, another cat can’t sneak in and steal the kibbles by mistake. In short, I am very happy with the purchase.

I am very pleased with this feeder. One feature I particularly appreciate is its narrow design, unlike the surefeed, which allows only one cat to eat at a time. I had issues with the surefeed because it was too wide, and my second cat would often push in. The setup was easy, and my cat quickly adapted to it, even though she had already been trained on the surefeed. Cleaning is also a breeze.
However, there are a couple of downsides that led me to give it a 4-star rating. Firstly, one of my cats is prone to chin acne caused by plastic bowls, so it would be great if this feeder offered a stainless steel bowl option. Secondly, the dish is quite deep and narrow, making it a little challenging for my cat to reach the bottom. Some cats don’t like their whiskers touching anything when they eat.
Apart from these two issues, I really like this device and will likely purchase another one when my current surefeed eventually stops working (which I anticipate will be soon since they don’t tend to last more than a year).

I find this model to be more efficient and sturdy compared to its competitor, Surefeed. With this bowl, there are no risks of food theft when the owner is eating, thanks to its very high sides.

We didn’t have the opportunity to use the automatic feature of the feeder because our cat strongly disliked the bowl. Despite our efforts to encourage him to eat from it for a week, he almost completely stopped eating. It’s possible that the bowl was too deep and narrow or had an unusual scent. It’s hard to say for sure, since he’s a cat. We’re extremely disappointed, especially since he usually grazes on food and requires a specific diet.

The product has a great concept, but it only works sporadically or not at all. Despite being advertised as compatible with my cat’s ISO microchip, the feeder struggled to read it. This resulted in my cat going hungry as the lid didn’t open. Initially, it worked fine for about two weeks, but then it began reading her chip only once every four attempts and only if she held her head above the dish for an unreasonable amount of time. I am extremely disappointed with its performance, especially since troubleshooting measures like replacing batteries and re-linking the chip didn’t make a difference. Unfortunately, we couldn’t get in touch with the manufacturer for further assistance.
During the training process, our cat quickly learned how to use the feeder when it was functioning correctly. So, in terms of usability, I would consider it “easy to use.” However, we encountered an issue with our second cat, as the feeder didn’t allow them access to the dish. We didn’t face the expected problems of our overweight cat tipping it over or pushing the smaller cat away, as the door always closed promptly. Therefore, I would rate this product positively for households with multiple cats, but only when it is functioning correctly.
It’s difficult to determine whether we received a faulty unit or if the scanner quality is inconsistent across all units. Microchips are known to migrate under the skin, so it’s possible that it worked with the microchip in one location but not in another. Our cat’s microchip was implanted between her shoulder blades.
Lastly, the feeder came with a tag that did work, but it wasn’t applicable in our case as our cat cannot wear a collar due to medical reasons. Additionally, I found the tag to be quite large for a cat.

I have two large male pets and a small female pet. Unfortunately, the boys often bully her and steal her food. I was tired of having to feed her in the bathroom and going through the hassle of closing the door, feeding her, letting her out, and putting the food away to protect it from the boys.
Luckily, I found this amazing product. It was extremely easy to install and adding food is a breeze. It only took my little girl about a week to get used to it. The first time she approached it and the unit opened, she got startled and jumped back, which was quite funny. I had to gradually move the bowl closer to her and patiently let her adjust to the sound and motion of the cover going up and down. Eventually, she started eating without any fear, and the boys have given up on trying to access the food.
The only downside is that the food bowl isn’t very deep, so it can only hold around two days’ worth of food for her. However, I knew this before purchasing, so I didn’t deduct a star for it.
Overall, this product is fantastic, although it is quite expensive for what it offers!

I am extremely disappointed with this product. It lacks consistency in its functionality. I noticed that it opens more consistently with my cat sitting beside the feeder, compared to when he is actually trying to eat from it. It is frustrating because sometimes it doesn’t open at all while he is eating, and if it does open, it quickly closes while he is still actively eating. I have given it a couple of weeks to see if my cat would adjust, but unfortunately, I have concluded that this feeder is simply not up to par. Moreover, I dislike the deep plastic bowl that comes with it. I would have preferred a stainless steel bowl instead. Although I appreciate the size of the feeder, I intend to return it and opt for the other microchip feeder available on the market.
